Job summary

BayCare in Tampa, FL is seeking a Lab Medical Assistant II to join our clinical team. The role involves collecting, receiving and processing inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing, with daily collaboration with nursing staff and physicians.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months of phlebotomy or laboratory-related experience, a high school diploma (or a related bachelor's degree), and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
