BayCare Health System in Carrollwood, FL is hiring for a Lab Medical Assistant II to collect, receive and process specimens for testing and to support the laboratory team. You will collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to ensure accurate referral testing and timely results.

The role requires phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma (bachelor’s in a related field is acceptable in lieu of experience), and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 6 months phlebotomy or laboratory-related experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree in a related field is optional in lieu of experience.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive and process inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communicate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interact with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
