Job summary

BayCare Health System in Plant City is seeking a Lab Medical Assistant II to collect, receive, and process patient specimens for testing. You will communicate with nursing and physicians, refer specimens to outside labs, and perform phlebotomy while supporting the lab team.

Qualifications

• Required - 6 months phlebotomy, laboratory-related experience or related field.
• Required - High School diploma or equivalent.
• Or Bachelor’s related field in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive, and process inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communicate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories.
• Interact with physicians, clients, and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
