Job summary

BayCare Health System in Clearwater, FL is seeking a Part-time Lab Medical Assistant II for inpatient and outpatient specimen collection and processing. You will work with nursing and physicians, perform phlebotomy, and refer tests to outside labs.

Requirements include at least 6 months in phlebotomy or a related lab field, and a high school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree can substitute for experience. A valid driver's license is preferred.

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience:

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field

Education:

• Required High School or equivalent
• Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience

Credentials:

• Driver's License
• Preferred Phlebotomy
