Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a talented and certified Lab Manager to join our Lawrenceville lab team. You will oversee daily operations, ensure QA/QC compliance, manage junior staff, and support project managers while upholding safety and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating testing, interpreting data, preparing reports, calibrating equipment, maintaining records, and contributing to business development.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED; higher degree in Civil Engineering preferred
• 4 years of related experience
• Certifications per ECS policy; dual lab certifications if soils and concrete labs
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Advanced knowledge of lab testing methods and ASTM standards
• Ability to lift 60-80 pounds occasionally

Responsibilities

• Manages daily laboratory operations, personnel, and workload distribution
• Oversees testing, data interpretation, and report preparation
• Ensures testing meets standards (ASTM, QA/QC)
• Maintains/calibrates equipment and calibration records
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
• Ensures compliance with accreditation and QMS
• Oversees staff certifications and staff development
• Supports project managers and administrative functions
• Leads recruiting and staffing
• Promotes safety culture and PPE compliance
• Participates in business development and client relations
• Occasionally performs lab testing and duties
