Job summary

ECS Limited seeks a certified Lab Manager to lead the CMT laboratory in Wilmington, NC. You will oversee daily operations, manage staff, ensure testing quality, and coordinate with project and department managers to meet department goals.

You will calibrate and maintain equipment, manage safety programs, and participate in business development and client relations while promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring staff achieve required certifications.

Qualifications

• 4 years of related experience
• Certifications per ECS Technician Policy and any advanced certifications needed
• Valid driver''s license if driving for ECS subsidiaries
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Advanced knowledge of laboratory testing methods and ASTM standards
• Ability to lift 60–80 pounds occasionally

Responsibilities

• Manages daily laboratory operations, personnel, and workload distribution
• Oversees laboratory testing, data interpretation, and report preparation
• Ensures testing meets applicable standards (ASTM, QA/QC)
• Performs calculations and data reduction as needed
• Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment and calibration records
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment
• Ensures laboratory organization and compliance with accreditation and QMS
• Leads recruitment and staffing efforts with leadership
• Promotes safety culture and safety training
• Participates in business development and client relations
• Occasionally performs laboratory testing and technician duties
