Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist Lead to provide technical leadership for the laboratory team during the Evening shift (12pm-8:30pm RW). The role focuses on planning daily activities, evaluating performance, and ensuring high standards of biochemical/hematologic testing.

The incumbent will mentor staff, oversee quality control, and contribute to performance improvements while maintaining patient safety and accuracy in results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in medical technology/clinical laboratory science or related science required; or Bachelor degree with subspecialty area.
• MT (ASCP)/CLS(NCA) or appropriate subspecialty certification such as C(ASCP) required.
• 3 years’ experience in an accredited laboratory; hospital lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and coordinates daily activities for laboratory personnel.
• Provides documentation and recommendations for performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Performs preanalytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing responsibilities in Chemistry (including Hematology, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Special Chemistry).
• Monitors quality control and inventory of supplies and reagents.
• Maintains a safe work area and demonstrates professional work habits.
