Job summary

Meritus Medical Laboratory in Hagerstown, MD seeks a Lead Technologist in Hematology for full-time oversight of day-to-day operations on the evening shift. You will supervise high-complexity testing, ensure quality control, and coordinate staff training and competency assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with CAHEA-accredited Medical Technology program or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years of clinical laboratory experience.
• ASCP certification or equivalent high-complexity certification; meet CLIA 42CFR493.1489 requirements.

Responsibilities

• Be accessible to testing personnel for on-site, phone, or electronic consultation to resolve technical problems.
• Provide day-to-day supervision of high-complexity test performance by testing personnel.
• Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable analytic performance.
• Ensure corrective actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from specifications.
• Ensure patient test results are not reported until tests are functioning properly and actions are complete.
• Identify and provide orientation and training to testing personnel and students.
• Evaluate and document the performance of individuals responsible for moderate complexity testing.
