Job summary

Verista is seeking a Lab IT Support Engineer to support a large-scale Windows 11 upgrade initiative across Research & Development laboratories in Cambridge, MA. This 6+ month contract focuses on upgrading instrument-connected lab computers while collaborating with scientists, instrument vendors, and IT teams to minimize disruption.

The role requires hands-on Windows 10/11 experience in lab environments, strong troubleshooting, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

Experience supporting Windows 10/11 in laboratory environments.
Hands-on experience with instrument-connected PCs or scientific lab systems.
Strong troubleshooting across Windows OS, hardware, software, Active Directory, and basic networking.
Excellent communication and ability to work with scientists, vendors, and IT teams.
Onsite requirement 5 days/week in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

Perform Windows 11 upgrades on laboratory workstations and instrument-connected PCs.
Coordinate upgrade activities with instrument vendors, onsite and remotely.
Follow vendor installation procedures to restore instrument software and connectivity after upgrades.
Troubleshoot Windows, hardware, software, and network issues during deployment.
Partner with scientists to support post-upgrade validation and resolve issues.
Document upgrade activities and elevate issues as needed.
Ensure laboratory systems are returned to operational status quickly.
