Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated in San Diego is seeking a Facilities Lab Support Technician to manage critical laboratory infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and specialized lab equipment, ensuring safe, compliant operations.

You will monitor systems, perform preventive maintenance, coordinate vendor work, and provide on-call emergency support to minimize downtime while upholding safety regulations and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum facilities experience with at least 2 years in laboratory or research environments.
• Strong knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, electrical distribution, and plumbing systems.
• Working knowledge of building codes, OSHA regulations, and laboratory safety standards.
• Preferred: Associate's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with CMMS and building automation platforms.
• Familiarity with lab equipment including fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, autoclaves, glasswashers and specialty gas systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain laboratory utility systems including compressed air, vacuum, gases, water purification, electrical distribution and safety systems.
• Monitor HVAC, fume hood exhaust, cleanroom environments, and temperature-sensitive storage; ensure air quality and safety.
• Conduct preventive maintenance for hard services equipment and coordinate with vendors.
• Provide on-call emergency response for lab disruptions and coordinate temporary repairs.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, and safety standards; document inspections and certifications.
• Support external contractors and service providers to meet laboratory standards.
