Job summary

MedPharm Ltd in Durham, NC is seeking a Laboratory Operations & Equipment Coordinator to manage daily logistics, maintenance, and vendor interactions in a non-GMP research environment. You will calibrate and troubleshoot lab instrumentation, oversee CMMS records, coordinate shipments, and support environmental monitoring while ensuring safety and compliance.

Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure instrumentation remains fit for use and compliant with standards.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in life sciences, facilities management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in lab, research, or regulated environment preferred.
• Familiarity with chemical and biohazard waste handling procedures.
• Experience coordinating vendors and managing service schedules.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills.
• Experience with CMMS, inventory systems, and ERP tools (NetSuite) preferred.
• Experience with instrumentation calibration, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
• Ability to recognize needs, take action, and deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate incoming/outgoing sample shipments, logging, tracking, and receiving.
• Perform internal/external safety and equipment inspections and testing.
• Support environmental monitoring activities and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate lab equipment maintenance, repair, and calibration activities.
• Perform calibrations, maintenance, troubleshooting of lab instruments.
• Enter/update CMMS data related to calibrations performed.
• Work with R&D teams to ensure instrumentation remains compliant for non-GMP environment.
• Track equipment status and manage laboratory asset records.
• Manage compressed gas cylinders and liquid nitrogen safety checks.
• Oversee inventory of consumables and lab supplies; order as needed.
• Coordinate vendor services, service schedules, and contractor activities.
