Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, is seeking a Laboratory Engineering Technician to support regulatory and non-regulatory testing of Dryers and washer-tub capacities in Louisville, KY. You will collaborate with engineering to ensure compliant test setup, execution, and reporting.

The role requires mid-level lab operations experience, governance of test equipment and calibration programs, and the ability to lead tasks with minimal supervision while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with Engineering Test Procedures (ETPs).
• Thorough understanding of standards (ETP, UL, AHAM, CFR, ANSI).
• Demonstrated mid-level expertise in laboratory operations, including governance of test equipment, test software, calibration programs, and preventative maintenance to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable lab performance.
• Ability to independently lead work with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment to set priorities, resolve issues, and drive results aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Review test plans to ensure appropriateness and modify test setups; calibrate test environment.
• Interpret test standards to confirm setup and method for test stability and validity; produce test summary reports.
• Ensure TRs contain required information for each test and maintain supplies.
• Perform quarterly inventory of supplies for regulatory testing.
• Perform PM checks on test equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain calibrated equipment lists and prepare equipment for calibration for DOE/UL testing.
• Move engineering samples between test areas and maintain 5S and safety standards.
