Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, is seeking an Engineering Lab Technician in Louisville, KY to conduct performance, energy, and safety testing on Room Air Conditioning products. You will work with engineering to ensure test standards are followed, requiring 2 years in a lab setting and universal refrigerant certification.

The role involves reviewing test plans, calibrating equipment, and communicating with engineers to ensure accurate test summaries per ISO 17025.

Qualifications

• Thorough understanding of air conditioning standards (AHRI, CFR, UL).
• Ability to independently lead work with minimal supervision, set priorities, resolve issues, and drive results.
• Strong time management and attention to detail in a dynamic lab environment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude for unit set up with lab testing fixtures.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical expertise to review test plans, modify test setups, and calibrate test environment.
• Interpret standards to determine appropriate methods for test stability and reporting.
• Maintain calibration of chambers and instruments in accordance with ISO 17025; coordinate with facilities.
• Communicate with engineers daily and during schedule reviews.
• Perform correlation testing before and after calibration and after configuration changes.
• Obtain universal refrigerant certification to perform UL testing.
• Move engineering samples between test area, preparation area, and storage areas.
