Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts seeks a senior Laboratory Director to oversee the Clinical Laboratory's operations, testing, and reporting. You will provide strategic planning, leadership, and compliance across all lab services.

The role requires a Bachelor's in medical technology or related science, ASCP MT certification, and at least 7 years in a lab with 3 years in management. A Master’s degree is preferred; experience with LIS and regulatory inspections is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related science field.
• Registered MT (ASCP) or equivalent.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 7 years laboratory experience with 3 years supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Strategic planning for the laboratory and department goals.
• Provide leadership in delegation, organization, and daily operations.
• Ensure testing systems meet quality standards across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases.
