Job summary

Advocate Health’s Navicent Health Medical Center - Lab is seeking a data entry professional to accurately enter patient demographics and laboratory orders for outpatient specimens. This role supports physicians and staff with timely, quality results and requires strict HIPAA compliance.

The candidate will operate the lab information system, process specimens, and ensure accurate data transmission to clients, while adhering to safety guidelines and hospital procedures.

Qualifications

• Performs data entry of patient information and lab orders.
• Must hold a High School or GED diploma.
• Follows HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
• Provides client support for physicians and staff as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates lab and hospital information systems for data entry and retrieval.
• Processes outpatient specimens and labels tests for testing.
• Retrieves patient data and results for clients and physicians.
• Documents client calls and follow-ups in the system.
• Assists with data entry queue and interdepartmental communications.
• Uses email, web orders, and indexing of requisitions.
