Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a Lab Courier to pick up and deliver documents, mail, lab specimens, equipment, and supplies within the organization and to institutional clients. The role requires operating a vehicle in all weather, maintaining logs, and providing professional customer service.

The position is full-time, night shift (12 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.) with 40 hours weekly, based at the Wyoming site in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 21+ years old and have an excellent driving record.
• MI Chauffeur License and MI Driver's License required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely picks up and delivers documents, mail, packages, lab specimens, equipment, and supplies within the organization and to clients.
• Abides by all traffic laws and DOT standards.
• Interacts with clients professionally and provides excellent customer service.
• Maintains daily logs and ensures vehicles are ready for next route.
• Reports repairs and notifies supervisor of issues.

About the Unit

The Lab Courier, picks up and delivers various documents, mail, packages, lab specimens equipment, materials, supplies and other items within the organization and institutional clients. Ensures timely, safe and accurate delivery. Must be able to operate vehicles in all weather and driving conditions.

This job requires flexibility, reliability and organization.

Scope of Work

Safely picks up & delivers various documents, mail, packages, lab specimen, equipment, materials, supplies and other items from appropriate locations in a timely manner.

Abides by all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and training.

Represents Corewell Health in a professional manner upholding our core values of compassion, collaboration, courage and curiosity.

Follows appropriate protocol and procedures for accident/incident occurrences.

Follow guide books outlined in each vehicle and notify leadership immediately.

Interacts with clients in a professional manner providing excellent customer service.

Relays client service problems to the attention of supervisor.

Responsible for maintaining and completing daily log.

Ensures vehicle is ready for the following route by filling up the gas tank and returning keys and equipment to designated area.

Keep vehicles clean, organized and prepared for the next driver to utilize.

Advise Supervisor of any repair needs.

Utilizes technology to best provide services to customers.

Responds to urgent dispatch requests based on business and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent
