Job summary

Corewell Health is seeking a dedicated Patient Transporter to move patients safely and efficiently across the hospital. You will coordinate with dispatch, document transport activity, and help maintain equipment and department records.

In this full-time role, you’ll complete an average of 18+ runs per 8-hour shift, uphold patient confidentiality, and collaborate with nursing and other healthcare staff to support quality care delivery. On-site at Dearborn Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigation measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Transports patients throughout the hospital in a timely, safe and efficient manner. Communicates with the dispatcher on runs, delays, etc. Maintains transportation equipment and completes department records and transportation forms.

Essential Functions

• Transports patients to their tests and procedures in a safe and timely manner.
• Collaborates with the nursing staff, ancillary departments, the patient, and other health care providers in providing quality patient care.
• Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner.
• Completes departmental records and transport forms.
• Meets the department's standard of 18+ (18-24) runs in an 8-hr. shift.
• Returns equipment to their appropriate locations. (i.e. wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen tanks).
• Demonstrates safe and appropriate use of equipment.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Provides information and gives updates within specified time intervals.
• Keeps the dispatchers informed of any delays, changing of equipment, etc.
• Appropriately interacts with other departments when giving or receiving patient information.
• Maintains "positive" interactions with co-workers, patients, visitors, and staff.

Range of Pay

• Pay starting at $16.49.
