Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator FSED to coordinate technical and non-technical activities on assigned shifts, under supervision. Responsibilities include specimen handling, quality control, equipment maintenance, staff training, and regulatory inspection prep.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years as a medical technologist.
• 3+ years experience in applicable area, potentially with administrative oversight.
• 2 Year/Associate Degree in Science or equivalent.
• 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• National Certification for MLS or MT.
• Tennessee State License (and/or).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical and non-technical departmental activities on assigned shifts.
• Handle specimen collection, processing, referral testing.
• Coordinate quality control and scheduled equipment maintenance.
• Assist in regulatory inspection preparation and training.
• Support department manager/director in achieving goals.
• Intra- and inter-departmental activity integration.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology

Associate Degree in Science or equivalent

Tennessee State License

National Certification for MLS or MT

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology (preferred)
