Job summary

TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator FSED to coordinate technical and non-technical activities on assigned shifts, under supervision. Responsibilities include specimen handling, quality control, equipment maintenance, staff training, and regulatory inspection prep.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years as a medical technologist.
• 3+ years experience in applicable area, potentially with administrative oversight.
• 2 Year/Associate Degree in Science or equivalent.
• 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• National Certification for MLS or MT.
• Tennessee State License (and/or).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate technical and non-technical departmental activities on assigned shifts.
• Handle specimen collection, processing, referral testing.
• Coordinate quality control and scheduled equipment maintenance.
• Assist in regulatory inspection preparation and training.
• Support department manager/director in achieving goals.
• Intra- and inter-departmental activity integration.

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology

Associate Degree in Science or equivalent

Tennessee State License

National Certification for MLS or MT

Responsibilities include technical discipline areas, specimen handling (collection, processing, referral testing), and performing technical and non-technical duties as required. Key duties involve coordinating quality control, scheduled equipment maintenance, personnel training, regulatory inspection preparation, and scheduling. This role supports the department Manager/Director in achieving goals related to service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, a healthy work environment, and integration of intra and inter-departmental activities.

• 3-5 years as a medical technologist.
• 3+ years experience in applicable area, potentially with administrative oversight.
• 2 Year/Associate Degree in Science or equivalent.
• 4 Year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology preferred.
• National Certification for MLS or MT.
