Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, in Nashville, TN, seeks a Laboratory Manager to oversee and support the technical operation of the Clinical Laboratory, including staffing, regulatory compliance, quality initiatives, and policy adherence.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Medical Technology, a Medical Technologist TN Supervisor license, and at least 2 years of general laboratory management experience; strong interpersonal skills and problem-solving

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills to interact with all lab customers
• Required licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of general laboratory management experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Medical Technology
• Medical Technologist with State of TN Supervisor’s license

Responsibilities

• Oversees and supports technical operations of all assigned lab areas.
• Oversees staffing and scheduling of lab personnel.
• Fosters a positive work environment that promotes morale and retention.
• Plans and sets agenda for monthly and quarterly lab meetings with input from Laboratory Director.
• Enforces hospital and lab policies.
• Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies.
• Sets and monitors goals for the department.
• Represents the laboratory on hospital committees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
