Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Lab Assistant for weekend options to support specimen processing and basic testing in a CLIA-compliant setting. The role involves venipuncture, specimen preparation, and assisting clinical staff with non-clinical tasks.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED; phlebotomy knowledge and EKG experience are highly regarded. Previous healthcare or clinical lab exposure is preferred for success in this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School graduate or GED

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is preferred. Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy is preferred. Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes is preferred. Experience in performing EKGs is preferred. Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
