Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist who will handle sample processing and venipunctures in accordance with CMS CLIA ’88, OSHA and state regulations. You will prepare blood specimens and support clinical staff, following Piedmont policies and procedures.

No licensure is required by law, and a phlebotomy certification is preferred. This on-site role values basic lab knowledge and healthcare experience while welcoming new entrants in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• No minimum experience required.
• No licensure/certification required by law.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred (ASCP/ASPT/NCA or equivalent). Basic venipuncture knowledge and lab processes familiarity preferred.
• EKG experience and healthcare/clinical lab experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS CLIA '88, OSHA and Georgia Dept. of Community Health and other applicable standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens according to Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff with non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:None

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is preferred. Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy is preferred. Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes is preferred. Experience in performing EKGs is preferred. Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
