Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. The role includes processing samples, performing exempt screening and monitoring tests in line with CMS (CLIA '88) and OSHA standards, and collecting blood specimens by venipuncture in accordance with Piedmont procedures.

No prior experience is required; however, 1 year as a phlebotomist and experience in performing EKGs are preferred.

Formación

• GED or high school diploma required.
• No experience required; 1 year as a phlebotomist preferred.
• Experience performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
