Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is hiring for a laboratory specimen accessioning role. You will receive and accession specimens, ensure accurate patient identification, and support lab workflows in coordination with Medical Laboratory Scientists.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalency exam.
• Experience not required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors.
• Receive, accession and process specimens to ensure timely reporting of results and positive patient identification.
• Handle telephone inquiries and transfer as needed.
• Register in HIS as needed and manage specimen workflow.
• Perform testing as needed and troubleshoot specimen-related problems.
