Job summary

Danbury Hospital is seeking a patient-focused lab support technician to assist technical staff in preparing specimens and equipment for patient testing. You will manage inventory, perform accessioning and reporting tasks, and support customer service across the lab workflow.

This role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least three years of related experience, with AS degree preferred. Manual dexterity and ability to handle moderate physical effort are expected in a busy lab

Qualifications

• Minimum formal education of High School Diploma and at least three years of job-related experience.
• Customer service and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintains daily operations of the front end automation system (MPA).
• Loads specimens received and delivers samples to appropriate sections.
• Ensures specimen integrity during accessioning and processing in LIS.
• Performs preventive maintenance and quality control on equipment.
• Answers phones and ensures customer satisfaction; handles add-on test requests.
• Maintains and labels reagent inventory.
• Manages pneumatic tube system; files and discards as required.
• Restocks supplies and communicates with staff for service excellence.
