Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate; some college preferred.
• Prior experience in laboratory environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety requirements and government retention regulations.

Responsibilities

• Accessions and prepares gyn and nongyn specimens; monitors storage and safe disposal.
• Maintains Cytology slide files and ensures proper documentation.
• Uses laboratory information system to accessions, print reports, and collect QM data.
• Assists AP clerical staff with patient reports and recalls; handles mailing and faxing tasks.
• Monitors section supplies and usage; supports cost-saving initiatives.
• Promotes teamwork, fiscal responsibility, and patient-focused care as part of the hospital mission.
• Interacts with the lab team to fulfill orders and manage stock levels.
