Job Responsibilities:

1. Receive specimens from Phlebotomists and Couriers.
2. Enter patient demographic and testing information into laboratory information system.
3. Label specimens using labels produced by laboratory information system.
4. Screen laboratory specimens for adequacy.
5. Deliver specimens to proper laboratory department for analysis.
6. Prepare specimens and requisitions for delivery to reference labs.
7. Assist with other data entry and clerical functions as assigned.
8. May be assigned to drive a company vehicle to pick-up and deliver specimens.
9. Load and unload samples from instruments.
10. Verify all testing on samples is in a completed status.
11. Scan samples to storage for potential add-on testing.
12. Perform waived testing as assigned.
13. Assist with monitoring inventory.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by shift supervisor or lab manager.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Medical Terminology (Preferred)
• Basic Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software
• High level of attention to detail and focus
• Medical Experience: 1-year preferred but not required
