Job summary

Del Mar College is seeking a Part-Time Lab Assistant (Pool) to support the Nurse Education department. The role involves setting up and breaking down skills labs, stocking supplies, and maintaining lab equipment and manikins.

You will help with inventory control and ensure clean, ready-to-use lab spaces for student use. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and 3–6 months related experience; associate’s degree and 1 year related experience are preferred.

Job Description Summary

The purpose of this position is to provide direct support to the department, its students, and faculty. Duties will include assisting with set-up and take-down of equipment and supplies for skills labs, assisting with inventory/stocking, and other skills-lab related needs as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Three to six (3-6) months related experience.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Excellent keyboarding skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and use of electronic email systems/calendar scheduling.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree.
• One (1) year related experience.

Job Duties

• Maintenance of lab equipment including manikins and lab space; this includes washing manikins, cleaning beds/tables, weekly laundry of lab linens. Maintenance of simulation software and support systems. Maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Assist with set-up and take down of skills and simulation labs.
• Inventory Control: keeping track of equipment and manikin parts; Maintain cabinet organization in simulation labs.
• Manikin & Lab Maintenance: washing manikins; cleaning beds and tables; weekly laundry of lab linens.
