Job summary

Madison Health in London, OH is hiring a Laboratory Assistant to perform routine and stat phlebotomy for patients from neonates to geriatrics. You will liaise between lab staff, physicians and hospital teams, and assist with specimen handling for Occupational Health testing.

This is a full-time 2nd shift role, Mon–Fri 2:00pm–10:30pm with weekends/holidays rotating. Responsibilities include specimen collection for lab testing, LIS data entry, and maintaining a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification in phlebotomy from a qualified training program preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and stat phlebotomy on patients across the age spectrum.
• Obtains blood and non-blood specimens for laboratory testing.
• Follows all laboratory policies for patient identification and sample collection.
• Processes specimens for in-house and Reference Lab testing.
• Files appropriate paperwork and completes orders in LIS and portals.
• Interacts with patients and families with dignity, confidentiality and reassurance.
