Job summary

Mercy Health - Lorain is seeking a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist to perform phlebotomy, specimen collection, and registration tasks using LIS and HIS. This PRN role requires flexibility to cover 24 hours per month, two full weekend shifts every six weeks, and one holiday annually.

You will handle accessioning, processing specimens, and reporting, while delivering basic customer service and maintaining supplies. A High School diploma and phlebotomy certification preferred; training provided.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy Certification (preferred).
• Basic phlebotomy training (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen collection procedures
• Processes and sends out specimen and body fluids
• Enters orders
• Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting of samples
• Generates reports
• Registers patients
• Provides basic customer service
• Maintains inventory levels and stocks supplies
• Phlebotomist duties may be needed.
