Job summary

Madison Health in London, OH is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to perform routine and stat phlebotomy for patients from neonates to geriatrics. You will communicate with lab staff, physicians and patients, and assist in occupational health specimen collection.

This full-time, 2nd shift role runs Monday–Friday 2:00pm–10:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include processing specimens for in-house and reference lab testing, LIS data entry, and maintaining a clean work area

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Certification in phlebotomy from a qualified training program preferred.
• Ability to perform routine and stat phlebotomy across the age spectrum.
• Comfort with communicating with patients and families during procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and stat phlebotomy on patients across the age spectrum.
• Processes specimens for in-house and Reference Lab testing.
• Completes order entry in LIS and web-based portal for Managed Care specimens.
• Maintains lab work station and keeps area neat and stocked.
• Provides clerical support as needed.
• Treats patients and families with dignity and respect and ensures confidentiality.
