Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a phlebotomy technician to join our clinical laboratory team. The role involves performing venipunctures, processing samples, and assisting the technical staff in non-clinical tasks within a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, with preferred experience in phlebotomy and EKGs, and familiarity with healthcare or clinical laboratory environments. CPT phlebotomy certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• 1 year experience in performing EKGs preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities:

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
