Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. You will perform sample processing, venipuncture, and specimen preparation in accordance with CMS/CLIA standards and Piedmont policies.

No experience is required, though 1 year in a phlebotomy role and EKG experience are preferred. A CPT phlebotomy certification is also preferred to enhance qualifications.

Formación

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical labs is a plus.

• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens according to procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities:

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required


• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred


• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred


• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required


• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
