Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital invites applications for a Phlebotomy Technician to perform sample collection, processing and exempt screening within a regulated clinical laboratory environment. You will draw blood, prepare specimens and support technical staff to ensure timely, accurate results for patient care.

Education requires a High School Diploma or GED. No experience is required; 1 year of phlebotomy or EKG experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; 1 year of phlebotomy or EKG preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification (CPT) or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens according to Piedmont policies.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
