Job summary

Alverno Laboratories in Hammond, IN is seeking a Microbiology Laboratory Technician to join our Central Laboratory team. You will process specimens and analyze and report waived and moderately complex test results according to procedures and standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 12–18 months of related experience, plus knowledge of medical terminology. Shift is 5:30 AM–2:00 PM with weekend/holiday rotation; this is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position.

Qualifications

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for specimen processing and the analysis, evaluation and reporting of waived and moderately complex laboratory test results, in accordance with established departmental procedures and professional standards, to provide appropriate specimens and accurate data in a timely manner.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Twelve (12) to eighteen (18) months of related experience is preferred.

Background in medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is required.
