Job summary

Alverno Laboratories in Hammond, Indiana invites applications for the Central Laboratory - Support Service position. You will enter data into the computer system and perform clerical and receptionist tasks while supporting lab operations with a patient-centered approach.

Shift is 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday–Friday with rotating weekend/holiday coverage; this is a full-time role. A high school diploma is required; computer experience and medical terminology knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Typing speed of at least 40 wpm.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Background in medical terminology or laboratory setting is preferred.

WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for accurately and completely entering all necessary data into the computer system and performing other clerical, receptionist and computer functions as directed and as needed. In addition, this person may also be required to process specimens. This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of our Catholic healthcare systems while performing all job functions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Clerical: Typing skills (at least 40 wpm).

Computer experiences preferred.

A background in medical laboratory and/or knowledge of medical terminology is strongly preferred.
