Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II - Per Diem at Evanston Hospital. The role involves triage, accessioning, and processing a range of specimens, with some weekends and holidays rotating. Per diem hours are Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm.

Responsibilities include quality control, data reporting, and maintaining a safe, compliant lab environment. Candidates should have at least one year of lab experience and a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: at least one year of laboratory experience
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Basic computer skills, customer service, and laboratory techniques.

Responsibilities

• Triage, accession, and process non-gynecologic, gynecologic, and FNA specimens.
• Assist with quality control processes to ensure instruments and reagents meet performance standards.
• Answer phone inquiries from nursing staff and physicians and provide results data as required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and handle biohazardous materials and chemicals per protocol.
• Participate in inventory and ordering management.
• Promote patient satisfaction and customer service values with all staff; treat patients with respect and care.
• Support new staff through training and mentorship.
• Ensure quality and compliance through laboratory logs.
