Job summary

Endeavor Health's Evanston Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II - Per Diem to support laboratory operations. The role involves triage, accession, and processing of specimens, plus clerical tasks and data reporting in a fast-paced environment.

Hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm with rotating weekends and holidays. The position offers per diem pay, opportunities for growth, and a strong focus on patient service and accurate results.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year laboratory experience.
• Basic computer skills and laboratory techniques preferred.
• Not certified; N/A certification.

Responsibilities

• Triage, accession, and process non-gynecologic, gynecologic, and FNA specimens.
• Assist with quality control to ensure instruments and reagents meet standards.
• Perform related clerical tasks and provide results data as required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and handle biohazardous materials per protocol.
• Participate in inventory and ordering management.
• Support patient satisfaction and staff courtesy; mentor new staff.
• Ensure quality and compliance through lab logs.
