Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• No prior laboratory experience required.
• Attention to detail and teamwork essential.

Responsibilities

• Actively promotes patient satisfaction and courteous service among staff.
• Assist with performing patient tests manually and with automated laboratory equipment.
• Prepare histological, microbiological, and clinical pathology specimens and slides.
• Enter test orders following established procedures.
• Assist with quality control to ensure instruments and reagents meet standards.
• Participate in continuing education, in-services, and lab meetings.
• Handle inquiries from nursing staff and physicians and provide results data as required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and handle biohazardous materials per protocol.
• Assist with inventory and supply ordering as needed.
• Perform computer tasks like call logs and worksheets to manage workload.
• Support Total Quality Improvement by collecting data for the lab Quality committee.
• Read and respond to emails in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
