Job summary

Baptist Health Arkansas is seeking a Laboratory Assistant I to support the clinical laboratory department. You will process specimens, perform waived or moderate testing as directed, and assist in pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical duties in a fast-paced setting.

You will work under supervision of Technical Staff and report to a Supervisor. Responsibilities include receiving, labeling, and distributing specimens, plus related clerical duties and collaboration with nursing and lab

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, and comprehension of English.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems with multiple variables.
• Organizational skills and self-motivation.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and with shift work.
• Comfort with handling biological specimens (bodily fluids, urine, etc.).
• Willingness to complete inventory-related training.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the manager.

Responsibilities

• Receive, process, label, and distribute specimens.
• Perform waived or moderate testing as directed by supervisor/manager.
• Communicate with nursing and lab staff to resolve specimen issues.
• Follow established protocols to ensure quality patient results.
• Carry out required clerical duties as needed.
