Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Laboratory Assistant and Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• 1 year of medical laboratory assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represents the laboratory as a model of the institution's mission and values.
• Verifies accuracy of patient and specimen information.
• Examines specimens for adequacy and appropriateness.
• Labels specimens and prepares aliquots with correct patient identification.
• Receives and processes specimens to meet turn-around-time goals.
• Assists with inquiries on specimen requirements, stability, and test turn-around-times.
• Assists with phlebotomy and send-out specimen processing.
• Maintains a clean work environment and sanitizes benchtops and equipment.
• Assists the point of care team as needed.
• Serves a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population.
