Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required for moderate-complexity testing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• May perform waived and moderate-high complexity testing per CLIA '88 guidelines.
• Interprets and reports results for established tests in Microbiology.
• Conducts quality control, quality assurance and maintenance.
• Works independently under supervision of the department coordinator or a certified technologist/technician.
• Duties include clerical tasks, specimen collection, accessioning and processing.
• Answers phones, relays patient results and monitors expected/outstanding logs.
