Patient First in Central Park, Virginia, is seeking a Lab Assistant for full-time work. You will perform waived testing, collect specimens, and help with patient care under supervision, while maintaining safety and quality controls.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, knowledge of lab principles, and the ability to handle high patient volume while multitasking and communicating effectively with the care team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of laboratory principles and waived testing.
• Ability to produce rapid, reliable lab results with high volume.
• Experience with venipuncture, finger sticks and drug screens.
• Able to lift 20-50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid, quality lab results.
• Follow specimen collection and processing procedures.
• Maintain quality control documentation.
• Order lab and x-ray supplies as directed.
• Notify care team when patient is ready for exam.
• Adhere to safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Assist Nurses and Physicians with patient care.
