Job summary

The Rockefeller University is seeking a Husbandry Attendant to provide daily care for laboratory animals in a AAALAC-accredited program. Responsibilities include cage changing, general animal care, and health monitoring under supervision of a Floor Supervisor and Group Leader.

The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with ALAT preferred. Candidates must be able to push/pull carts up to 500 lbs, lift up to 50 lbs, and tolerate standing, bending, and walking.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• ALAT certification is preferred.
• Ability to push/pull carts weighing ~500 lbs. and lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must not be allergic to animals, waste products, or bedding.

Responsibilities

• Perform cage changing, general animal care, and monitor/report animal health.
• Maintain and report on facility equipment, clean rooms, and manage consumables (food, water, bedding).
• Be responsible for animal room records and notify appropriate personnel of irregularities.
• Other duties as needed.
