Qualifications

• Able to speak and write fluent English.
• ALAT certification required; substitutions: 2-year degree in animal/biological sciences may substitute for ALAT.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintenance of animal quarters; rotate cages and racks; disinfect and sweep areas.
• Provide routine care of research animals: feed, water, bedding, enrichment; monitor health and report issues.
• Monitor environmental conditions: temperature, ventilation and lighting; adjust as needed.
• Maintain logs and records of room activities; ensure timely data communication to staff.
• Monitor and restock supplies; inform supervisor of shortages and restock as required.
• Assist with relocation of facility equipment and supplies; transport as needed.
• Assist in regulatory compliance and enrichment program documentation for lab animals.
• Approved drivers may operate the supply van or other vehicle as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
