Job summary

The Rockefeller University is seeking a Cage Wash Attendant to support the Comparative Bioscience Center in maintaining clean, safe animal care facilities. The role focuses on cage sanitation, equipment handling, and maintaining a sanitary work environment under supervision.

You will operate autoclaves and washers, move equipment, and assist with light maintenance. Strong communication and ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required, with a HS diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED required.
• Must have good communication skills.
• Must be able to push or pull weight bearing wheeled carts weighing approximately 500 lbs. and the lifting capability of approximately 50 lbs.
• Requirements are subject to change as a result of facility needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery, including laundry, autoclaves, equipment washers, and hoists; movement of equipment throughout the facility and maintaining clean conditions within the cage wash area;
• Maintain clean hallways by removing dirty equipment to the cage-wash area for processing. They must maintain ample clean autoclave supplies;
• Contribute to the collection of waste, mopping floors, changing light bulbs, restocking supplies, and fulfilling appropriate requests;
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
