The Rockefeller University is seeking a Husbandry Attendant to provide daily care for laboratory animals in a AAALAC-accredited program. Responsibilities include cage changing, general animal care, and health monitoring under supervision of a Floor Supervisor and Group Leader.
The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with ALAT preferred. Candidates must be able to push/pull carts up to 500 lbs, lift up to 50 lbs, and tolerate standing, bending, and walking.
The Comparative Bioscience Center provides a comprehensive program of animal care in support of the University's in vivo research. The goal of our staff is to provide investigators with the highest level of research support at the lowest cost while ensuring the welfare of the animals used in the research. The center is fully accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC).
The Husbandry Attendant will provide the daily care of laboratory animals maintained at Rockefeller University using established policies and procedures as prescribed by federal, state laws and regulations. Husbandry attendants report to the Floor Supervisor and are also overseen by a Group Leader.
The Husbandry Attendant's responsibilities included, but are not limited to the following:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. ALAT certified preferred. The right candidate must be able to push/pull carts on weight-bearing wheels weighing approximately 500 lbs., and lift supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to climb ladders and tolerate a significant amount of standing, bending, and walking. Must not be allergic to animals, waste products, or bedding.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
