Job summary

Qualifications

• Requires education in a specific field and at least one year of experience directly related to the research or program.
• Experience in a laboratory setting and/or with laboratory animals.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health of animals and room environments and report abnormal conditions.
• Assist in veterinary care, administer treatments and perform other technical procedures.
• Humane handling, restraint and transport of animals.
• Assist principal investigators, students and technicians.
• Operate and maintain equipment used in cage preparation and room sanitation.
• Receive, house, remove and record arrival and departure of animals, maintain animal inventories.
• Perform tasks such as maintenance of supply inventories, breeding records, activity logs, sanitation records.
