Job summary

After-School All-Stars Los Angeles is seeking a Program Coordinator to lead an ASAS-LA site, ensuring a safe, dynamic after-school program that educates and inspires youth. You will drive attendance, show initiative, and craft strategies to attract and retain participants.

The role requires supervising staff, coordinating with schools and communities, and maintaining health and safety standards while reporting incidents and ensuring program quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles in afterschool, day camp, or youth orgs.
• Ability to work with school districts, officials, parents, and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for expanded learning programs is desirable.
• Able to develop programs for diverse learning styles and interests.
• Experience in ethnically and culturally diverse communities is desirable.
• Strong verbal and written communication in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all staff and volunteers at the ASAS-LA site and provide development opportunities.
• Discipline and behavior management to maintain a positive atmosphere.
• Embed ASAS-LA Mission and Vision in daily practices at each site.
• Provide a safe program environment conducive to education and engagement.
• Guide and model inclusion and support for participants.
• Oversee day-to-day programming and report emergencies or conflicts to supervisor.
• Liaise between ASAS-LA and school sites to address issues and partnerships.
• Implement ASAS-LA initiatives through observations and trainings at site and org level.
• Collaborate with school-day efforts and off-school activities for youth development.
• Assist with surveys for program evaluations involving parents, staff, students.
