Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a data center technician with strong troubleshooting and leadership skills to support large-scale server refresh projects. You will work in a Linux-based environment with limited CLI work and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure standards are met.

The role emphasizes teamwork, independent work capability, quick learning, and adherence to company data center standards. Training and long-term block-based shifts are part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience with Layer 1 troubleshooting in data centers.
• Ability to lead and supervise L1/L2 technicians.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, enterprise data center environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform data center deployments and hardware refresh projects.
• Support a large-scale 9,000-server refresh.
• Install and rack & stack hardware; manage cabling (fiber & copper).

Job description

Pay Rate: $40 - 50 /hr on W2 (all inclusive)

Schedule - MUST CONFIRM

Training: Mon-Fri, 12 PM-8 PM for first 30 days

After training, candidate chooses:

• Block A: Sun-Wed, 8 PM-7 AM
• Block B: Wed-Sat, 8 PM-7 AM

Candidate should clearly state which block they want and confirm they can maintain it long term.

Core Responsibilities

• Data center deployments, buildouts, and hardware refresh projects.
• Supporting a large-scale 9,000-server refresh.
• Rack & stack and hardware installation.
• Fiber and copper cabling.

Top Requirements

• Layer 1 troubleshooting experience.

Technical Environment

• Linux-based server environment with limited CLI work.
• ServiceNow, transitioning to Jira.
• Water-cooled data center experience is preferred but not required.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong team player and communicator.
• Able to work independently.
• Quick learner with a solid data center foundation.
• Technical gaps can be trained; culture and teamwork are important.
